by Caroline Fletcher 1 year agoThanks, Carla!
I think the big thing for me right now is the availability of fast food and soda. I also should work on drinking green tea in the mornings instead of my usual creamer-filled coffee. I do tend to skip breakfast, though I know it's the most important meal of the day.
I've been wanting to try an acai berry cleanse, but I am unable to swallow pills. (Sad, but true.) I've heard and read that just the juice itself is so full of antioxidants that it cleanses your body and stubborn belly fat just dissolves.
I think most of it is just me noticing that i'm starting to level out hormonally and fat is being stored in places I'm not used to.
Thanks for the pointers. I'll definitely work on my meal schedule and tea and water intake. -
by Carlise (Carla) Shepperd 1 year agoCaroline I can tell you what works for me. I drink unsweetened green tea and water only because it is healthier than diet soda etc. Hot tea itself I've read burns 80 calories so that's an additional bonus. Don't ski[ breakfast, but you know this. I usually have a fiber pack breakfast like shredded wheat with some 1% or soy milk, a turkey sandwich on toasted wheat bread with Dijon mustard and a fruit. For snack a fruit but for me it's usually oranges, and dinner well I like curry chicken with lettuce and bake chicken and broccoli. I read somewhere that you should exercise on an empty stomach or 5 hours after a big meal. This sounds crazy but when I ignore this rule I lose less in a week but you can have a small snack like protein bar and water or tea though.
Fish oil tablets, daily, it helps, even Weight Watchers recommends it! Sleep helps too, getting at least 7 hours of sleep will help. To figure out how much calories you should be eating multiply your weight times 7 but on Biggest Loser they multiply it by 6 for faster weight-loss so that's something you can too.
But water is your friend, water is your friend. Just drinking 8 glasses of water a day you'll be surprise may be your key. You can lose weight the first few days just flushing your system with water. So I make sure to pay attention to my fluid intake.
That's all I can think of right now but I will add more as it comes to me. I hope this information helps you Caroline, I really do, because I want you to feel as good as you'll look on wedding day! :) -
by Caroline Fletcher 1 year agoI've always been thin and had a high metabolism and muscle although I rarely workout. But since being in college and turning 21 in Feb, I've been putting on weight. Not good, since I have my dress and it fit like a glove when I bought it in March. I need some tips to being healthier and losing the 20 lbs I've gained since March, without being strictly diet.

by Carlise (Carla) Shepperd 1 year agoI struggled with my diet for the past year, I've been so busy, not getting enough sleep but now I am back on track. I started my new diet on Monday but I am not really counting calories just eating healthy. Just veggies, fruits, wheat, grains, chicken, turkey and very little red meat. I also walk two hours a day on my brand new treadmill we got with tax return money since I know that is what I needed so I can walk after the kids go to bed and I don't have energy to jump around following a tape or DVD. I still use my Abs of Steel to help tone my stomach since after three kids it's in terrible shape.
I weigh myself on Monday and I will see what my first week looks like. This is it though I will be at my goal before the end of Summer.
I will post again on Monday. Hope all of you are doing well with your diet. Stay motivated, I know it's hard, but just focus on the big picture, being healthy and yes smaller, that is what helps me to push myself hard as I work-out every day.
Good luck! -
