So recently I’ve become OBSESSED with the little cute sour cream containers. I know, sounds gross, but wait until you see how totally cute these are.
So let’s talk about how to make these.
What You’ll Need:
• Decorative Paper (text weight works best, but cardstock is fun too)
• Paper Trimmer
• Double Sided Adhesive (Terrifically Tacky works Great!!)
• Paper Crimper (this isn’t required, but super fun effect when you look at it)
• Treats to put in the containers.
What to do:
The first thing you will need to do is decide on the size of your favor container. A quarter sheet of paper is a great size to use with the finished project.
Trim your paper. Depending on your paper trimmer it is suggested to do several layers of paper if you can. Cut all of your paper at once, it’s faster if you aren’t skipping back and forth between steps!
Adhere your Double sided tape to one side of your decorative paper.
Holding the paper in place, peal the Red protective film off of the tape (if you are using regular double sided tape, this doesn’t apply to you) Roll the paper with the adhesive piece on the outside creating a tube. Adhere to secure the tube shape. Be sure to press it closed. (Sorry forgot to take a picture of this step!)
Cut a piece of Double Sided Tape (about half the size of your circle) and place into the end of the new roll of paper
Remove the protective layer of film
If you are using the paper crimper, here is where it comes into play. Crimp the end of the paper with just a small turn of handle. (I don’t have one, but where this is nice and smooth, it would be crimped, you get the idea!)
Fill with your treats! (don’t over fill though, you still have to close the other end)
Steps 6, 7, & 8 to close the tube. It’s important when you close it that to get that sour cream container look, you pinch the paper in the opposite direction. For a more traditional favor look, no need to go in the opposite direction
Now I got creative here. I wanted to embellish the favor containers so I added some ribbon and a tag (I know there is nothing on the tag, but just imagine all of the possibilities)
