~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Thank you to all who attended the Spring Meet and Greet. I had a wonderful time and got some wonderful tips, even some diet tips as well. A special thank you to Michelle Crisman and Mickie who were here at least 15 minutes before the event started, you made the night extra special.For those who expressed regret for not being able to attend, we will do it again soon but together we will chose a date and time so even more of you will be able to participate.
All the winners were assigned numbers based on the order of the comments they left. For prize #1 determining the winner was easy since only one valid entry was posted. Prize #2, Michelle was assigned #1 and the True Random Generator selected her as the winner. Prize #3 was a bit different since a few entries were messaged to me. These were from ladies who wanted to let me know that they would love to win the prize but some came too late for the event or tried to attend but had problems signing in, etc. Of those entries, including Michelle Crisman and Christina Mercado, Kim M. was assigned #2 and that number was drawn. Congratulations to you, I know how much these prizes will be a great help to you as you plan your wedding as a Bronze Budget Bride!
Cool "Save-the-Date" for Movie Buffs!
By Amy WalshOne of the weddings I am working on is really stretching my creativity limits with the budget! Not that this is a bad thing - especially in this economy. Anything I figure out or ideas that come along can always be used in the future to help other people.
So, picture this...(nice pun, huh?) I have a bride who was a drama/film major in college. Absolutely adores movies. And can be a drama queen herself sometimes (can't we all, though?). Traditional wedding and nothing too outlandish, especially with watching every penny. What to do to bring a little fun on the scene? Ta-da! The Save-the-Date cards - of course!
Why didn't we think of this sooner? So I peddled on over to Hobby Lobby; in their Party Section, they have small packages of 8 of actual popcorn holders in the Carnival theme section for $1.49/pk. I picked up a box of 100 tickets for $1.99 in the same area. In the paper punch area, I found a mini punch of a cupcake by ez success for $7.99 (I only used the top part of the cupcake for this. A sparkly yellow 12x12 scrapbook page for $1.99 and some white cardstock for $4.99 and I was off! Using MSWord and its wonderful AutoShapes, I measured the popcorn packages, used a shape that matched and set the correct height/width. WordArt for the curvy top "Save-the-Date" and text boxes for the rest; print out two to a page on the cardstock and cut them out. Another AutoShape for a cartoon bubble (for the curvy popcorn part) with yellow fill in the shape, and cut this out along with the text card. Trim the yellow bubble to arch over the text and glue on. Punch some of the top cupcakes out of the sparkly paper and glue onto the yellow for accent "popcorn." Glue two tickets to the outside of the box, and glue the sides and back part of the bottom of the box to itself. Then just put the card in the front part of the box, address the envelope and voila! Perfect for those who are mad, mad, mad for the theater!
Looking for Candy To Match Your Theme?
By Carlise (Carla) ShepperdI was planning on creating a Candy Buffet for our reception and quite a few brides-to-be were kind enough to recommend the CandyWarehouse.com. I was surprised to find that they had that many different types of purple candy to match my theme. They had candy in colors I hadn't even seen before which is great since guests would have been just as surprised. I love that they carry some of my old favorites too like striped candy sticks, salt water taffy and raspberry filled, hard candies. It's definitely worth checking out if you looking for candy in a specific color for your wedding, they have a great variety there.
Bridal Shower Games
By Carla Lowery
Bridal showers are held approximately three months before the
wedding date and the maid of honor is in charge of the bridal
shower festivities. Brides can either choose women only bridal
shower or a co-ed bridal shower and a bridal themed shower, but
whatever brides chooses she needs to make the bridal shower full
of fun for
everyone.
The toilet paper
wedding gown game is a fun and unique game where a few
guests are selected to be the models or judges, and then the rest
of the guests are broke up into two groups. Each group has to
design their best wedding gown created from toilet paper. After
each group has designed their toilet paper wedding gown the
models create a walkway for the judges to view the designs and
determine the winner of the most beautiful toilet paper gown and
the winner receives a prize.
The Newlywed Game is a game for a co-ed bridal shower. This game is for couples, so single women or men will have to sit this particular game out. The maid of honor should come up with a list of questions for the couple prior to the bridal shower. Typical questions this game would be “What is your spouses favorite color,” “Who takes the longest to get ready each morning,” or “What’s your spouse’s favorite food?” When playing The Newlywed Game keep the list on the conservative side to be sensitive for all guests attending the bridal shower. At the bridal shower, the maid of honor will ask the questions to each couple and in the end, the couple who provides the most correct answers is the winner and receives a prize.
Bridal Bingo is
a fun game that all your guests will enjoy. Before the bridal
shower create some bridal bingo cards on an 8 ½ x 11 card stock
piece of paper and print them off or use this free template. If the
bride has a wedding registry list, items can be used from that list
for the bingo cards categories for each cell of the table (usually
write in the lower priced items). The game is played when the bride
is opening gifts. Guests will mark off the words on the bridal
bingo card and whoever marks off their bingo card is the winner and
receives a prize.Recipes for a Marriage is a great game for bridal shower guests. Purchase some blank cards and send those cards out with the bridal shower invitations. Ask the guest to write down their recipe, tips, or advice for a great marriage. This could be an actual recipe, a joke, tips, or a piece of advice. Each guest takes turn reading his or her card aloud to the bride. When the game is finished, the Maid of Honor collects the cards for the bride and creates a beautiful scrapbook keepsake for the bride.
Things in a Brides Purse is a fun game for all the women at your bridal shower. Use this free template to tally up the winner for the most usual and unusual items in a purse.The bridal shower should not just be about the gifts, it is about getting together with family and friends to celebrate your new life with your spouse. Maid of honor, be sure to use this free bridal shower thank you card checklist for the gifts and make sure the sends out thank you cards promptly. We hope you enjoyed our list of bridal shower games and enjoy this list of bridal shower games!
