It's no secret that I am all for brides with a small budget making their own cakes or having a trusted relative to do it for them. I have personally met women who have done it just by watching cake related shows like Ace of Cakes on T.V. on a regular basis. So you can do it too and here are a few to inspire you.

So, I've listed a few  beautiful fondant covered cakes that are accented by ribbons or flowers. You can find an easy fondant recipe HERE to use, just four ingrediants, and a buttercream frosting recipe HERE in this video on the site as well. Then it's just a matter of following the steps in the video below.

Anything you need for baking your cake you can find cheap online at amazon.com or cakesbysam.com. However, you can find them offline at Walmart and even some dollar stores. I also say don't be afraid to use a cake mix if you don't think your cakes are the best. It's called semi-homemade and I know that I'll be using the strawberry flavored cake mix with strawberry pieces in it. I won't know how to bake a strawberry cake and feel confident about it, and that cake is always awesome when  I bake it for Valentine.

You can see these and 500 more cakes in the cake gallery at weddingcakesacrossamerica.com!
