Paper Lanterns on Shepperd's Hook

By Carlise (Carla) Shepperd
Shepherd‘s hooks, which held purple lanterns and were accented with deep purple ribbon, lined the pathways outside the reception space.
I loved this idea as soon as I saw it because it's different, colorful and could be replicated very easily!

Preston Bailey and the Rose Centerpiece

By Carlise (Carla) Shepperd

One of the comments for this video was, "Something he doesn't say in this is that its easier to get the rose petals to line up if the flower was almost as open as it can get without turning brown. The petals are flatter so its easier to put each row in." So use open roses and you should get a fantastic centerpiece.

100 Roses for $89.99

DIY - Purple Orchid Centerpiece

By Carlise (Carla) Shepperd
Submerged purple orchid centerpieces topped the guest tables, perfectly complementing the linens.
I love featuring centerpieces like this that I know that any small budget bride can recreate and for very little money. For this centerpiece the vases are varying heights with Orchids string together that float upwards. The Orchids are anchored by a few small stones at the bottom of the each vase. I've added the links to all the supplies you can use to recreate this piece for under $10.00. Just click on the prices as usual to be linked to each item .

One Stem Bicolor Dendrobium Orchid  - $1.79

I suggest using this real Orchids for the centerpiece s to ensure that the float properly since some have had trouble getting artificial flower to float!

A Cheaper Alternative to Installing Special Lighting at your Wedding

By Carlise (Carla) Shepperd
Yellow Light.jpg

Adding special lighting to any reception decor gives a room such elegance, beauty, charm and style. However, if you shop around, you'll find that it's not cheap to get it professional installed . The good news is that you can  create that wash of light yourself, seen in the photos below and it's easier and cheaper than you think!

Candles, candles and more candles!

By Carlise (Carla) Shepperd
http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_b12g9r9h72c/RtQ9cpgjYEI/AAAAAAAAAZA/BEOU1hodCto/s320/cluster%2Bof%2Bcandle%2Bcenterpieces.jpg

There is one thing I've learned from the hundreds of wedding shows I've seen and reception photos I've browse and it is that the most affordable way to add some glam, charm and elegance to any small budget wedding is to add lots of candles. Even if the room itself is not as fab as you'd like, with dim lights and candles flickering, how could the guests not feel the love.

DIY - Dark Blue Iris Centerpiece

By Carlise (Carla) Shepperd

I found this floral arrangement on Proflowers.com and the total price for this bouquet is $29.99 plus $6.99 for the vase, which then equals to $36.98! As a budget bride, if you want this exact look for your wedding, you can create it yourself for much less. From the information I found, there is suppose to be 20 heads of Irises in the arrangement, but you can always use less to save a little moola. Teh vase you can buy for just $1.00 and the Irises are $1.39 each. Click on the prices below, for each item, to be linked to the site where you can purchase them.
