By Carlise (Carla) ShepperdWe're planning a wedding but I know we all want the happily every after. Everyone says that marriage takes work, but there are so many elements that have to fall in place on a continual basis that really makes any marriage a happy one. I know a thing or two since I've been married four years now but I love these seven tips that RedbookMag.com shares in the article How to Make Your Relationship Last! I enjoyed reading it and hope you do!
Looking for a Flea Market or Garage Sales in your Area?
By Carlise (Carla) ShepperdI've found some great items at garage sales in my neighborhood and yes some for my reception as well such as the clear glass vases I've posted below for only 25¢. The home owner were collecting the vases for years from flower deliveries and told me to take all 14 of them, large and small for $3.50 so I saved quite a few dollars with this deal!

A garage or yard sale is also a great way to bring in some extra cash for your wedding and get rid of some unwanted things around the house at the same time. That is why you should know about about www.TagSellIt.com where not only can you post your yard sales online or find out where the garage sales are happening in your area, you can also see and buy some of these items from sellers in the other states. I saw some great things there today but just like any garage sale you can't expect them to stay around for long so you'll to check out the website on a regular basis if you want are interested in the virtual sales.
If you are more a flea market gal like me then you can just get a lost of all the flea markets close by so you can start scouting them for deals this week-end!

Easy Marshmallow Fondant Recipe
By Carlise (Carla) Shepperd
I've posted this recipe before in the Monogrammed Cookies favor idea article from stylishgiving.com, but I thought it would be a good idea for me to high-light it today. There some of you who are thinking about making your own cake, yet do not like the taste of regular fondant and it can be costly if you are making a larger cake too. So this fondant recipe is an answer to your prayers because not only does it get rave reviews for its taste, but as you can see from the recipe and the ingredients, you can make it yourself, no sweat at all. Of course, my favorite part is that you can make a four tower cake using your own recipe and make enough fondant to cover the whole thing for under $20.00!
Don't forget to watch the video as well to see that is no such a daunting task to bake and cover your own cake with fondant.
Nothing's Wrong With Serving Pie
By Carlise (Carla) ShepperdI love pie, more than cake actually and that might be because of my egg allergy I couldn't eat it without getting a stomach ache till well into my teens. Actually, I must admit that as I type this, I'm reminding myself to put apples on the shopping list so that I can make an apple pie for our dessert on Sunday.
Apple pies are my favorite, there's not even a close second and I know there are plenty of you brides-to-be that just love yourself some pies too. So I say, what's wrong with serving pie, instead cake, at your wedding! Who'll complain about forking through that delicious goodness, and you don't even have to make them yourself. At my local supermarkets, I can buy 8" freshly baked pies for just $2.99. So 10 pies would be just $29.99! So I ask again, what's wrong with serving up some pie? Nothing....I say.... not a thing.
Just a look at those pies below from HostessBlog.com and tell me you are not thinking of changing your mind right now about that wedding cake... go on, take a look, they'll make your mouth water, (hehe).
Wedding Cake Pops from Bakerella.com!
By Carlise (Carla) Shepperd
I love Bakerella.com! there you can always find a fun and tasty treat to make accompanied by lots of photos and step-by-step instructions so you walk away confident about what you decided to bake. My favorite recipes are those featuring her oh-so-cute cake pops. They look so fun to make and delicious too.. I'll be trying my hand at them for my son's birthday in January where we'll be making the Sesame Street Cake Pops, or probably just Elmo.
The Wedding Cake Pops, which look exactly like mini wedding cakes, would be perfect to use as wedding favors. Add a tag with the name and table number for each guest and you'll have escort cards and favors all rolled into one. Afforable, cute and tasty...what else can you ask for from a favor?

I'm just a Bridesmaid!
By Carla Lowery
When
a bride selects a bridesmaid, it really is a complement to her
friend, cousin, or sister. The position differs from the maid
of honor, but it is very similar in many ways and shares some of
the same responsibilities. The bride chooses you to fill the
position as a bridesmaid because she wanted to include you in her
special day, so it is really a complement to you!Once you have accepted the position of being a bridesmaid, what does this important position entail? The bridesmaid position includes pre-wedding tasks, day-of-tasks, and post-reception tasks. All which are very important to make the wedding run smoothly (QC, 2010)! Pre-wedding tasks are attending dress fittings, assist with wedding shower/bridal shower, help make or create wedding favors, make sure guests know the location of each event before the wedding (bridal showers, bachelorette party), let guests know about the gift registry, be in charge of gift check list for thank you cards (bridal shower and wedding reception), be on time to wedding rehearsals, and address wedding invitations. Day-of-Tasks include attending pre-wedding breakfast, running last minute errands, decorate reception hall, attend hair and make up appointments, or participate in pre-ceremony photographs. Additional Day-of-Tasks would include being on time to the ceremony, make sure the bride has some quite time if needed before wedding, mingle with guests before wedding, dance with groomsman partner, being supportive and good listener to the bride at all times by continually checking on her, receiving line mingling, assist the bride with mini tasks, trouble-shoot if any problems arise, take pictures of guests, and get guests dancing on the dance floor, and keep mingling through out the night. Post-reception tasks include helping with clean up and taking care of wedding gifts for the couple.
The responsibilities of a bridesmaid does really require a lot of work and if you have been select to fill this position make sure if you cannot handle it to let the bride know right away, so she can select another special person to become a bridesmaid. If you are up to the task of being the bridesmaid, be the best bridesmaid ever! Show the bride you really care about her and want to make her day very special. In time, the favor can be returned, as the bride could become your bridesmaid.
